About Jaclyn Dorchak

Jaclyn Dorchak joined the Fisher Law team in July 2022 as an intern and so amazed us with her creativity, smarts and ambition, she has now come onboard as one of our legal assistants.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Law and Society and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, both from the University of Calgary, Canada.

Jaclyn was also a student athlete on the Dino’s rowing team, as well as a founding member, and VP Community, for the student organization Women in Leadership.

When not supporting the Fisher Law team or studying for her LLB Honours with the Open University in London UK, Jaclyn coaches cycling and group fitness. She also regularly volunteers with the Calgary International Blues Music Festival.

Her love of travel led to studying abroad at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and volunteering at the Rémar Orphanage in Quito, Ecuador. In 2021, she completed the Immigration Practitioner Program at Bow Valley College.

Jaclyn gained business and immigration experience in the Calgary construction industry, helping to manage her family’s company, where she assisted with LMIA work permits and then permanent residence applications for employees. Their stories and experiences moved her to write her B.A. honours thesis including an analysis of immigration policy and human trafficking for forced labour.
